Museums, archives and libraries are good at collecting statistics about the number of people who use our services. But we have not known how to describe learning or collect statistics about the learning that happens in our organisations.
And although we have been able to collect quotations from individuals, and document case-studies about learning, we have not been sure how to make the link between the overview of impact that statistics can show, and the detail of learning that happens on an individual level.
MLA funded the Learning Impact Research Project (LIRP) to help find a solution to this problem and the results are incorporated here.
