Your plan will identify the strengths that you need to build on and the areas that need attention or improvement.

Pilot sites set priorities to focus their actions and resources.

  • Some focused on 'quick wins'
  • Others concentrated on long-term developments
  • Several set their priorities in the context of their organisation's overall strategic plan and development programme
  • A number of local authority services found that it was important to embed these actions in existing service plans - such as the annual Library Plan or Service Plan
  • Some drew up a set of criteria, working with their Inspiring Learning for All team, to help them to evaluate actions and identify priorities

'We understand that there are no quick wins, but our Library Service is gradually developing with the aim of embedding a different approach to learning.'
